About TEACH-VIP E-Learning

TEACH-VIP E-Learning is an online self-paced curriculum in violence and injury prevention. You can choose from 20 lessons to create a learning experience appropriate to your needs and schedule. Each lesson can be completed in approximately one hour – although optional activities and readings are available that can add to the time needed to complete a lesson.

TEACH-VIP E-Learning is based on TEACH-VIP, a curriculum developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and a global network of experts in injury and violence prevention. It was adapted for online use by Education Development Center, Inc. (EDC) with funding from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The content of the modules reflect the views and expertise of the author(s) and do not necessarily represent the official position of the CDC.

TEACH-VIP E-Learning was developed using Moodle, an open-source course management system.

The Answer key for each assessment includes the following:
  • the correct answer for each question
  • an explanation of that answer
  • a link to the topic on which the question was based allowing you to return to that topic and review the material if you chose an incorrect answer

The assessments are scored as follows:
  • each correct answer is valued at one point, except:
  • multiple choice questions, in which one point is added for every correct answer, and one point deducted for every incorrect answer

Upon completing an assessment, you will receive a Grade comparing the points you received on that assessment to the maximum number of points possible.

You may take an assessment as many times as you wish. Once you have completed an assessment, returning to that assessment will generate a history of your attempts at that assessment, as well as the date and grade of each attempt.

No cumulative score is available for all the assessments in any one lesson or for all the lessons for which you are registered.
